Defective Majorana zero modes in a non-Hermitian Kitaev chain

چکیده
Topological stability is an important property for topological materials. However, the non-Hermitian effects may change this situation. Here, we investigate robustness of edge states in Kitaev chain with imbalanced tunneling term and a superconducting pairing term. By defining similarity Majorana zero modes (MZMs) magnetic factor, coalescing phase diagram MZMs corresponding spin polarization are provided. Because coalescence effect suppression induced by breakdown sublattice symmetry particle-hole symmetry, system emerges very interesting phenomena, such as defective MZMs, number-anomalous bulk-boundary correspondence, many-body ground states, crossover without gap closing. Those offer fresh insights into physics.

Boosting Majorana zero modes
One-dimensional topological superconductors are known to host Majorana zero modes at domain walls terminating the topological phase. Their nonabelian nature allows for processing quantum information by braiding operations which are insensitive to local perturbations, making Majorana zero modes a promising platform for topological quantum computation. Motivated by the ultimate goal of executing ...

متن کاملUbiquitous Nonlocal Entanglement with Majorana Zero Modes.
Entanglement in quantum mechanics contradicts local realism and is a manifestation of quantum nonlocality. Its presence can be detected through the violation of Bell, or Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequalities. Paradigmatic quantum systems provide examples of both, nonentangled and entangled states. Here, we consider a minimal complexity setup consisting of six Majorana zero modes. We fi...
